This should SHOCK you all
High School Censors Gay Kiss In Yearbook
"A New Jersey school district said Monday it regretted ordering a picture of a male student kissing his boyfriend blacked out from all copies of a high school yearbook and said it apologized to the student.
Andre Jackson, the student, said he was disappointed that the Newark schools superintendent had not delivered the apology face-to-face and in public. Because of that, he said he did not accept it as sincere.
“I would accept an apology — a public apology,” said Jackson, 18.
Jackson said he learned of the apology through the media.
The district issued a statement Monday saying it regretted the decision and that it would issue an unredacted version of the yearbook to any student of East Side High School who wants one.

Jackson said he learned of the apology through the media.
The district issued a statement Monday saying it regretted the decision and that it would issue an unredacted version of the yearbook to any student of East Side High School who wants one.
“The decision was based, in part, on misinformation that Mr. Jackson was not one of our students and our review simply focused on the suggestive nature of the photograph,” the district said.

“Superintendent Marion A. Bolden personally apologizes to Mr. Jackson and regrets any embarrassment and unwanted attention the matter has brought to him.”
District spokeswoman Valerie Merritt said Bolden would meet with Jackson on Tuesday.
Jackson said his teachers, classmates and his parents all knew he was gay and that his sexual orientation was never a problem at school.
“I’ve never had to deal with this before,” he said. “It’s shocking. It’s crazy.”
Previously, Bolden had described the picture, which showed Jackson kissing boyfriend David Escobales, as “illicit.”
“If it was either heterosexual or gay, it should have been blacked out. It’s how they posed for the picture,” Bolden told The Star-Ledger of Newark for Saturday’s editions.
In the photo, Jackson is seen turning his head back over his right shoulder and kissing Escobales, 19, of Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was blacked out after Russell Garris, the district’s assistant superintendent who oversees the city’s high schools, told Bolden he was concerned that the photo could upset parents.
The photo was among several that appeared on a special personal tribute page in the yearbook.
Jackson, who paid $150 for the page, noted that the yearbook is filled with pictures of heterosexual couples kissing."

Oh, and I also heard that Britney Spears' 16-year old sister is pregnant.
But who knows. I love Perez Hilton <3

I went HOME on vacation. Los Angeles for the motherfucking win!
Just finished the 7th and FINAL Harry Potter book. Marvelous, I tell you. No spoilers here, though ;)
So yeah... on Sunday Mom and Bri and I got back from LA. I had the best time there! The City of Angels is the one place I wholly belong. And know we know why I act the way I do :P
We went out to eat Friday night at a wonderful restaurant that had the BEST salad in the world. You can't even imagine it, it was simply amazing. And the strawberry lemonade was so good, I NEED to find out where to buy some.
So we saw the HOLLYWOOD sign in the Hills. Drove down Rodeo, Hollywood Blvd. and Santa Monica... and then we strolled and shopped on Melrose...
Hmm, one of my favorite parts of the trip was walking down Hollywood Blvd. at night, where we saw the studio where Jimmy Kimmel Live is filmed (there were huge banners outside).
And THEN, besides bobbing and weaving in front of Michael Jackson impersonators (that do the pelvic thrust and "I'll molest your child"-look) and giant (sticky-fingered) Elmo monsters, I saw it.
Mann's Chinese Theater with all of the (selected) stars' hand and footprints in cement in front of the building. I walked all around, furtively searching... and after asking for assistance, I found what I had been looking for. The hand, shoe and WANDprints of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. HELL YES. And I have pictures!
I'll post 'em in a bit... or when I feel like it.

We went out to The Grove for lunch... what used to be called the Farmer's Market. it is GIGANTIC and gorgeous. Parts of it made me think of Paris. I love California!!!
I also got to see the La Brea Tarpits, Cedar Sinai Hospital (where I was born) and the cute apartment building where I spent the first months of my life. And LAX was the first airport I ever flew out of. And if I die in the very near future, it'll be my last :)

When the shit hits the fan
Well... looking for NYC hotels online. There is NOTHING in Manhattan... EVERY SINGLE HOTEL is sold out. We think there's some convention going on there.
But there ARE vacant hotels in Brooklyn and Queens, but Bri doesn't want to take the subway for a few minutes to get back and forth. I think THAT constitutes lazy. And isn't that a sin or something?
Brianna wants to go to Miami... i really don't. I could settle for LA or San Fransisco.. but not fucking Miami. I want culture, dammit!
Fuck.
Listening to Circa Survive.
The new cd, 'On Letting Go' i really kickass... good enough to spend your money on. I did, and you know I generally buy music, I STEAL music.
So I was at Warped Tour the day before yesterday (July 14th). It was AMAZING. There is no other way to describe it quite honestly.
I saw:
Killswitch Engage
Circa Survive
Coheed And Cambria
Family Force 5
Tiger Army
The Unseen
Bad Religion
Pennywise
Paramore
Chiodos
Big D and the Kids Table
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Funeral For A Friend
Pepper
New Found Glory
Yellowcard
Cute Is What We Aim For
The Starting Line
Everyone put on great shows, but I must say this year's Best Warped Tour Show goes to FAMILY FORCE 5, for sure. They got out the motorcycle helmets, ski suits, big-ass golden gloves and they just BROUGHT IT. Fuck they can rock. I love them... I hadn't really heard of them before Warped, but they're surely at the top of my list now.
It was really great to get to see LEGENDS like Band Religion, The Unseen, Pennywise and Tiger Army, bands I've been waiting to see since I first got into punk.
Coheed and Cambria's set was awesome, everything and more than I had expected. I love Claudio's hair, it's gotten even bigger. It was incredible when they played 'A Favor House Atlantic' and the entire crown sang like half the song while Coheed held their mics out towards us.
Oh yeah, and I was at the very front :)
Killswitch Engage's shows was just stellar as well, and the onstage antics were a definite plus. Adam came onstage in a straw sombrero and cut-off jeans, looking totallt hick (and hot)... and he kept cracking demeaning yet hilarious jokes, enough that they stopped playing for like a minute because Howard was on the floor laughing his ass off so hard he couldn't sing.
God I love them.
And I met them, too...
I went to their signing and shook their hands. They signed my orange tank top and a poster. I shook their hands and while I shook Howard's I let it slip that I was there from Sweden and he and Adam were like "Oh my god, wow".
Then Adam said something like "Dude, you should've brought meatballs for me, why didn't you bring me meatballs?"
So I explained to him that it was because I'm vegetarian and then he went
"There's this really good coffee they have in Sweden you could've brought me... I forgot what it's called..." And then he looked at me all confused like he was scanning his brain for the answer. I was like "Oh, you mean Gevalia?"
And yeah, he meant Gevalia... so we exchanged smiles and I told them again how much I fucking love their band.
Took a bunch of pics... should be getting those up sometime..
Circa Survive's set was almost on a par with Family Force 5's! Just in a different way. MAN did Anthony get the crowd going!
I got there early, before Yellowcard had finished their set, but it was already so packed I couldn't get to the very front.
They played a lot of stuff off the new cd, 'On Letting Go', and the crowd went NUTS.
Like, we were moshing and swaying so hard and everyone was trying to crowd to the front. That's why I wasn't able to get a single picture of Circa.
Oh well... the experience will make me never forget that show.
Anthony put on this ugly wrestling mask right before the end of the second to last song and then 4 HUGE WRESTLING DUDES got onstage and just stood there for the rest of that song. When it was over, Anthony tossed his mask into the crown and the guy standing RIGHT nest to me caught it. I was pissed, but hey... I didn't catch it.
THEN, and this was the best part, their last song was Act Appalled, my favorite song from Circa Survive. EVERYONE sang along and it was just amazing... I didn't want it to end.
And that was the last band that performed. Then I just left and waited for Mom to come pick me up. I'm bruised, cramped, stiff and sunburned still, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Also, between bands I picked up this year's Vans Warped Tour compilation CD and like 6 free cd's from different stands. Got some other free stuff too, magazines, pins and bandanas. At the RAN stand, I got into a really good conversation with a cute (and most likely gay) guy and he gave me tons of really cool feminist, anarchist, environmentalist, hardcore/punk literature. It's all really awesome, and I got to meet a new face :)
Also... I hadn't heard of Chiodos or Big D and the Kids Table before, but they were both really great live. Amazing, really. Chiodos play really good metalcore stuff and Big D play ska/punk stuff that's really fun to skank (ska dance) to. And they had an entire brass section of horns onstage too!
So, besides KsE, I met and got stuff signed by Family Force 5, The Unseen and Funeral For A Friend. They were all really nice, and so human.
This year's Warped Tour has made me realize that music really IS what I want to work with, now more than ever. I want to be in the hot new band perrforming on the Lucky stage at Warped in a couple years. And If I strike gold with my music, I wouldn't hesitate a second to put college on hold.
Because I really just want to be happy, and music is my passion.

Do SOMETHING...
"...crisp white cotton, though thought of as a natural and environmental fabric, is actually more damaging to the environment than most synthetic textiles!
Cotton is one of the most environmentally damaging crops grown in the world.
Since it is not a food crop, cotton is routinely sprayed with an even heavier cocktail of pesticide poisons than agricultural food crops. In developing countries, more than 50% of all pesticides used in agriculture are sprayed onto cotton fields.
The result is wide scale water pollution, chronic illness in farm workers, and devastating effects on wildlife. In industrial countries like the USA, cancer rates in cotton producing states are significantly higher than neighboring states. Add to this the effects of bleaching the final fabric, and possibly spraying it with a fire-retardant, and your “natural look” garments seem distinctly unnatural."
Scary? Yes.
But what's even scarier is what we don't know and the information we do not have access to.
But fucking seriously people, do the Earth a favor and use porcelain or glass dishes instead of paper or, even worse, styrofoam (this is made from oil). Though we tell ourselves day after day that one person can't make a difference, that "one can on the side of the road won't matter", just think;
What would the world look like if just one person in every MEDC (more economically developed country) residing family took the bus to work, what would happen if that person recycled or chose to fuel their car with ethanol or vegetable oil?
A whole hell of a lot would happen, that's what. And maybe our generation could grow old with a sufficient water supply and a green earth with healthy, non-polluted air.

Oh yeah... so according to The Colbert Report (I'll try to link later), GAY MEN's index fingers are generally longer than their ring fingers, as are those of heterosexual women.
Consequently, lesbians and heterosexual men generally have ringfingers that are longer than their index's.
Guess what MY hands look like!?
I got home from seeing Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix a few hours ago.. and I must say:
Read the book? Then you'll be slightly disappointed at the amount of important detail omitted from the story in it's silver screen version.
But go see it, it's good nonetheless.
I find myself missing London and praying for a hot British accent. And missing Caroline, my Londoner counterpart.
I wish fate would step around the corner
And make my dreams come true
What's the hassle and what am I working for,
When I already know what I'd like to do?
And although the academic life is for me, even today
I've learned recently what they mean when they say
'Nothing in life is for free' (but I really don't care, like I ever thought it would be)
Though before I embarked on this intelligence endeavor
I must say myself, I thought I was damn clever,
Even if you make it, fellow canditates
Even if you do well
I'll have you know, colleges don't care
So I'll too see you in hell.
Now i say 'fuck it',
Who cares if I don't pass?
The honest response: 'Not Annelie, she'll be busy keeping track of CAS'
Well now at this closing I must say with a defeated laugh
Hell, this isn't my thing
IBO can kiss my loser ass.

That's just crazy. I cannot believe it.
The year is 2007 and we've still never had a female, black or openly non-heterosexual President. And a proud, gay magazine has been forced to mail its issues to subscribers in 'porno paper' to disguise the content.
What a disgrace.
I would love to believe that this is the 'land of the free and the home of the brave' as our nation's anthem so proudly cites, but such is fiction.

Oh, I must share.
Mmk, yesterday Brianna and I went shopping.. we went to the Galleria out in some part of Dallas I rarely go to.. forgot what the area's called.
We went to Old Navy and I picked up some flip flops (26 pairs of shoes since I got here, so far) and a new top/spaghetti strap tank thing. Then we headed over to Hot Topic where I thought I would find the cute flats I saw on their website, but NO! They did not exist. BUT! I met a potential best friend who happened to work there.
He was:
Cute...ok he was gorgeous.
Gay (Yay!)
Fashion-minded (he has the flip-flop version of my flats by some designer, who knows, I'll have to check)
Tattoo sense. He's got pretty stars on his arm which I commented on, he then informed me that they run down his back (HOT!)
Las Vegas. He just moved out here from there.
Music. He had indie stuff like The Killers and Modest Mouse on when I was in the store!
This boy was QUEER in the most flamboyantly loveable way. When he saw the Bloc Party shirt I was buying, he told me how much he too loves them (and Kele). Oh, and he's seen them live 4 times (!!!) in Vegas.
Oh dear. It was like we were meant to be best friends and start a fashion empire of something...
Insane. But I love it when stuff like that happens to me... I just hate that I may never meet him again.
OH MY GOD! The other hot tattoo he had was two interlocking "male" symbols. AWW, right?
Besides the shirt I got the newest issue of Revolver magazine and to packs of circular body piercing barbells in different colors. But I'm actually contemplating taking those back.
I think I want the lyrics to "waiting for the 7:18" tattooed somewhere, or maybe just BLOC PARTY... or possibly the cover of A Weekend In The City.
'Cause I'll love them forever, bitches.
Right. The reason why I haven't been online in days is...you guessed it... BECAUSE I FUCKED UP MOM'S PC SO IT WILL NO LONGER TURN ON!!! So... mom went in to work early this morning to bring home the laptop. And thank god I was technology-savvy enough to hook up the internet. No viruses yet!

Walking in the countrysides, it seems that the winds have stopped
I took down the posters from my wall,
Left letters for you all
I remember moments of happiness
Endless summers, acoustic guitars
Being a man made me coarse...when I wanted to be delicate
I called up Eugene, told him I was drowning
...
If you want to know what makes me sad, Well it's hope, the endurance of faith
A battle that lasts a lifetime... a fight that never ends

I can give you life, I can take it away
A heart of stone, a smoking gun

Why'd you feel so underrated?
Why'd you feel so negated?
Turning away from the light
Becoming adult
Turning into myself
I wanted to bite not destroy
To feel her underneath
Turning into the light
She don't think straight
She's got such a dirty mind and it never ever stops
And you don't taste like her and you never ever will
And we don't read the papers, we don't read the news
Heaven's never enough, we will never be fooled
And if you feel a little left behind
We will wait for you on the other side
'Cause I'm on fire
'Cause you know I'm on fire when you come
'Cause you know I'm on fire
'Cause you know I'm on fire so stomp me out
'Cause I'm on fire
I can give you life, I can take it away
A heart of stone, a smoking gun
I'm working it out
Why'd you feel so underrated?
Why'd you feel so negated?
Turning away from the light
Becoming adult
Turning into myself
I wanted to bite not destroy
To feel her underneath
Turning into the light

I am mad (and tired and dazed of my own accord, lol)!!! I've been watching Live Earth since like 11 o'clock last night...
Linkin Park played for an hour.
Bloc Party played THREE songs. Now, was that the intention of the guys or the concert organizers? Well.. it pisses me off either way.
Taking Back Sunday, AFI, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, KT Tunstall, Alicia Keys and THE SMASHING fucking PUMPKINS(!!!) are playing the NYC show. Fuck yes. i just hope I don't miss any of it.
It didn't rain much yesterday! w00t!
